Labor Department giving Florida employers free online assistance

Just a few days before Thanksgiving 2019 the Department of Labor published an online article on its blog where it gives Florida small business owners several Compliance Assistance sites that you should bookmark.

The Labor Department announced that it is doing this in recognition of Small Business Saturday (November 30, 2019).  The DOL wants you to view seven specific Labor Department pages that can help you make sure your Florida small business is complying with the law.

One link addresses common questions that small business owners have, such as, what labor standards apply to new and small businesses? What posters do you need to display in the workplace?

Another link addresses rules and regulations that the Department of Labor enforces. The page also connects to workplace poster requirements, and information from the Small Business Administration.

A third link guides employers to a free on-line resource where you can conduct your own safety self-inspection or even a No-Cost Safety Consultations

A fourth link sends you to the Wage and Hour Small Business Portal where you can review plain-language explanatory videos and compliance assistance toolkits to help your Florida small business understand issues about employee wages, child labor, family and medical leave, or recordkeeping.

A fifth link gives you resources about health, retirement, or other employee benefits.

A sixth link addresses if you conduct business with the federal government as a federal contractor.
